At Joliet TNT, we encourage the act of recycling not only in our gatherings but outside of them, too. We are happy to collect your recycled items that can be dropped off right at the site. If you have questions, feel free to use the Contact tab.

WHAT WE RECYCLE

In our concern for the Earth we are collecting single-use batteries that are “dead” and not leaking.

We don’t get any money for them, but we will be able to keep them out of the landfill and they will be recycled.

Here is what we are collecting; please put them in the plastic baggies:

  • Alkaline Batteries (e.g. AA, AAA, C, D, 9V)

  • Nickel Cadmium Batteries (NiCd)

  • Nickel-Metal Hydride Batteries (NiMH)

  • Button cell batteries

  • Lithium-Ion Cells (less than 60 Wh rated capacity)

  • Lithium-Ion Batteries (less than 300 Wh rated capacity)

  • Lithium Metal cells (less than 5g of lithium content)

  • Lithium Metal batteries (less than 25g of lithium content)

Bubble wrap, air pillow bags (shipping packaging) and padded envelopes. Be sure to “pop” bubble wrap, air pillow bags for less bulky recycling.

Clean #6 plastic cups (for example plastic Solo brand cups (other brands too). Plastic tops from paper coffee cups and soft drinks.

Collecting CLEAN Styrofoam (no Styrofoam packing peanuts):  Plates, cups, blocks from packing electronics.  I take these to a company in North Aurora which costs me 4 tolls round-trip.

Recycling empty/non-working ink pens, Sharpies, mechanical pencils, and wood pencils, highlighters with caps.

Clean empty snack bags and candy wrappers (ones with silver lining inside) and empty blister packs (ones with silver lining inside).

Dehumidifiers, air conditioners.

No longer needed cell phones/smartphones.

Non-leaking car batteries, marine batteries, emergency lighting batteries (12 to 6 volt). And other non-leaking lead batteries.

CD/DVD’s disc only. Not the hard-plastic container they were in.

Oral Care products.

Empty aerosol cans.

Collecting no longer needed wax candles and candle wax to make new candles. Empty votives (can have candle wax in them) for use in candle making.

Please be sure all recyclables are free from food/oily products, etc. and dry.
