Treibh Na Tintean Samhain 2020

Creating a Cone of Power

After all who want to have spoken, everyone forms a circle. Begin to draw energy around the circle clockwise, gradually shaping it into a cone that spins clockwise, gaining speed and rising in height. As the cone of power gains force, we begin our chant.

Ancient Lady, Ancient Moon

Rising now above us,

We gather in Your sacred grove

Asking that You bless us.

The cone of power will continue to build in intensity until, at last, one or more people will sense that it is ready to be released and will call “Now!” or “Release!” When this happens, release the energy into the night. If necessary, reach or stoop to the earth to ground yourself.

Death Prayer (spoken by all)

This is one of my favorite prayers to say around this time of year. I hope it brings you the same joy especially to those who have experienced loss this year.

Hail to the ashes of the cremation urn,

Hail to the silence of the tomb,

Hail to the gleam of white bone,

Hail to the stones of the barrow-mound,

Hail to the whispering wind that mourns,

Hail to the opening of the empty hands,

Hail to the work of the Carrion creatures,

Hail to all that rots to feed life anew

Hail to our grief that it may bring us healing

And hail to the end that is the beginning.

Officiant: Hail!

All: Hail!

Opening Circle

(Officiant): We thank The Horned God, The Twilight Goddex, and Dark Goddess for witnessing our rite and lending their energies to our works.

(All) Go if you must, stay if you will, hail and farewell.

(Officiant): We thank the ancestors of blood, wisdom, and tradition for witnessing our rite and lending their energies to our works.

(All) Go if you must, stay if you will, hail and farewell.

(Officiant): We thank the spirits of above and below for witnessing our rite and lending their energies to our works.

(All) Go if you must, stay if you will, hail and farewell.

(Officiant): We thank the spirits of North, East, South, and West for blessing our crossroads, witnessing our rite, and lending their energies to our works.

(All) Go if you must, stay if you will, hail and farewell.

(Officiant): We thank and bless the restless dead who may have joined this rite. We politely demand that you follow no one unless they ask to be followed and we wish you a final rest and transition.

(All) Go if you must, stay if you will, hail and farewell.

(Officiant): Always remember that the end is just another beginning. I offer you countless blessings this new year. May the road be never too dark to see. May you bask in the wonders of living, and may your transitions be magnificent.

(All) The circle is open, but never broken, merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again.
